Proposal of 16 storey building in Ulladulla in error from NSW Government
Ulladulla Info on 1 July 2025 recently reported that the NSW Government Housing Development Authority (HDA) Pathway had supported the approval of two 16 storey buildings in Ulladulla at 76 76A and 76B Princes Highway North Ulladulla. HDA recommended to the Minister that the project be declared.
Horror and shock went through the community on our Facebook Page with the aspect of any 16 storey building in Ulladulla yet alone two. And development of this size was not wanted or really called for in our community. Local Member Liza Butler said that the project would be assessed by the Department rather than by the council or a planning panel. All the regular processes will still be followed, and public exhibitions will take place. She encourage everyone to make submissions (with no details on who or where to make submissions). Still our local community were concerned and confused by the HDA recommendation for two 16 storey buildings in Ulladulla.
It was brought to our attention on 3 July 2025 that there were inaccuracies that were minor!!! in nature, and does not impact the recommendations made by HDA. There will now be an update to summary of proposal EOI 250170 by the NSW Government Housing Development Authority to correct an error made by them referring to 16 storey buildings and include instead 40 apartments across two 16m buildings (5 storeys) with an affordable housing monetary contribution to Council.
40 apartments across two 16 storey now being amended to 40 apartments across two 16m buildings with an affordable housing monetary contribution to Council (is not a minor inaccuracy). One would expect the NSW Government Housing Delivery Authority not to make such misleading information to the media and general public. And taking some 48 hours to bring their error to the attention of the Ulladulla Info editorial team.
Ulladulla Info apologises for the reported error based on the information received from the HDA that was for 16 storey which is an error made by them. Ulladulla Info was working with the information (now disinformation – the distributing of misinformation) provided by the NSW State Government in the first instance.
However the State Government still voted a recommendation in principle for two 16 Storey buildings for Ulladulla as per HDA business papers and minutes of 23 June 2025, with an addendum to Record of Briefing Following the Housing Delivery Authority (HDA) briefing. So yes HDA did approve two 16 Storey buildings for planning in Ulladulla.
Local Member Liza Butler was to send out a media release regarding the mix up by the HDA on 3 July; this will be posted here when the media release is issued.
