Driver James Harold McLean who served at Gallipoli

James Harold McLean was born in July 1894 at Milton, son of John and Annie Sophia Mclean nee Beadman.  He enlisted for war service in Dec 1914 at Brisbane at the age of 20 years.

Driver 6539 McLean served at Gallipoli with the 17 Coy AASC from late Aug 1915 to early Dec 1915, after which his unit was transferred to France.  He returned to Australia in Apr 1919.

He is mentioned in many of the local newspaper lists of servicemen and women. His brothers John Thomas, Joseph Ronald and Thomas Alexander McLean also served in the War.
