James Smith 15th Battalion Gallipoli

James Smith of the 15th Australian Infantry Battalion was born in 1887 at Milton, son of Jeremiah Smith and his wife Nancy nee Gardner.

He enlisted for war service at Lismore in Sep 1914 at the age of 27 years.

Private Smith 952 landed at Gallipoli on 25 Mar 1915 and was killed in action 9 May 1915 at Quinns Post Gallipoli, burial Lone Pine Memorial Turkey Ref 49.
