When will the Ulladulla Boat Ramp be open
On Tuesday 12 November 2024 Shoalhaven City Mayor Patricia White, took steps to re-open the complete Ulladulla Boat Ramp with the removal of the existing eastern side barricades. At the council meeting on 12 Nov there was confusion added by Director of City Services Carey McIntyre was said if the western side of the ramp is re-opened , also commented was that half the ramp could be opened. …. Council maybe could open one side (hold on this mislead many Councillors who were not fully aware of the situation of the Ulladulla Boat Ramp which the eastern side which was closed by Council in March 2024 … and the western side of the ramp is not even closed). However the matter was deferred for another two weeks, with undertaking of further investigation in relation to the Ulladulla boat ramp eastern side, and concurrently establish a 355 committee or a community led project for professional temporary repairs of the boat ramp, and to install safety signs on the western side of the boat ramp. This week there has also been confusion with Ward 3 councillor Natalee Johnston meeting with professional and recreational fisherman at the ramp to inspect and discuss the ongoing situation. Over the last few years over $1M State and Federal grant monies for Ulladulla harbour improvements and development has been returned by Council.

On Sunday 10 November 2024; a public meeting was held at the Ulladulla Boat Ramp (Southside) to discuss the dissatisfaction of the handling of east side ramp closure and none use of available funding. The meeting was attended by over 80 professional and recreational fisherman including members of the Ulladulla Game Fishing Club. Also in attendance were some councillors for all Council Wards. Speakers included Member for South Coast Liza Butler . Mayor Patricia White, Ulladulla Game Fishing Club and some of the Fishermen.
Mayor Patricia White announced the collation of a new modern day Ulladulla Harbour Development Plan. In addition to the steps she will be introduced to re-open the complete Ulladulla Boat Ramp with the removal of the existing eastern side barricades at the Council meeting on Tuesday 12 November.
